This Collection Statement describes how MyConnect collects and handles personal Information.


MyConnect collects and uses your information to establish accounts for requested utility services and offer additional services specific to your address. MyConnect will disclose this information to utility services providers for the stated purpose and to obtain confirmation of connection.

Dealing with your personal information.

When you make contact with MyConnect, you usually have to identify yourself by providing your personal information. We may not be able to process an application with you or answer your enquiry if we are not able to identify you.

The kinds of information we collect and hold

Depending on the type of contact you have with us, we may collect and hold a range of different kinds of personal information about you. This may include your name, current and previous addresses, date of birth, telephone number, email address, bank account and credit card details, credit history, concession or discount entitlements, shareholdings, qualifications, proof of right to work, and information about the services provided to you.

How we collect your personal information

i. Directly from you: Unless it is unreasonable or impracticable to do so, we try to collect your personal information directly from you. We may contact you, by telephone, through letters and/or emails.

ii. From third parties: We may also collect personal information about you from third parties, including your authorised representative, our agents or third parties with whom we have business relationships.

Authorisation to contact

When using the MyConnect service, you;

A. Consent to disclosure of information to MyConnect (ABN 65 627 003 605) for the purpose of arranging the connection of nominated utility services.

B. Understand and acknowledge that you are the authorised person completing a MyConnect form (including Get Connected Form, Tenancy Form, Online Signup) and you are confirming you wish to be contacted by MyConnect (including by telephone, SMS and email) in order to:

i. Provide the requested services and be offered additional services specific to your address
ii. Be offered consultation relating to the supply of the requested services and/or other services for utility providers
iii. Market or promote any of the services and other products MyConnect offers in line with our participating partners

C. Consent to MyConnect disclosing personal information to utility service providers for the stated purpose and obtaining confirmation of connection

D. Consent to MyConnect disclosing confirmation details (including NMI, MIRN, utility provider) to the Real Estate Agent

E. Acknowledge that whilst MyConnect is a free service, a standard connection fee and/or deposit may be required by various utility providers

F. Acknowledge that, to the extent permitted by law, the Real Estate Agent, its employees and MyConnect shall not be liable for any loss or damage (including consequential loss and loss of profits) to you or any other person or any property as a result of the provision of services or any act or omission by the utility provider or for any loss caused by or in connection with any delay in connection or provision of, or failure to connect or provide the nominated utilities.

Why we collect your information

We collect your personal information so we can identify you and interact with you for the purposes of connecting and creating an account for your required utilities

If you request utility connection services, MyConnect may collect your name, date of birth, email address, contact number, address in which you reside, concession information, life support requirements, and billing information from you to establish utility connections, billing account and future correspondence from a service provider. The primary reason MyConnect collects your personal information is to provide you with the services you have elected.

MyConnect may also use your personal information where you have provided prior agreement, for communication with you about our products and services and those of a third parties or about general information which you have indicated or we believe may be of interest to you.

By providing us with your contact details, your consent to receive communications and direct marketing with remain current until you advise us otherwise. However, you can opt out of receiving these communications at any time by:

Clicking of the “Unsubscribe” link or email correspondence;

replying “Stop” to SMS correspondence; or

emailing Attn: Compliance Manager
