NSW customers:

  • Please ensure you provide clear access to your meter and that there are no access restrictions such as locked gates or unrestrained animals.
  • If the power is disconnected, the main switch should be in the off position before the connection date, if there is clear access and is safe to do so.
  • If there is no access to the main switch or it is unsafe, make sure that all appliances inside the house are turned off at the power point to prevent any load on the meter.
  • Connections in the AUSGRID Distribution Zone: If the power is turned off on the day of connection, you will need to be onsite, and a technician will need to attend to your property. This can happen anytime between 7:00 AM-10:00 PM.

 

VIC customers:
  • Please make sure you provide clear access to your meter and that there are no access restrictions such as locked gates or unrestrained animals.
  • If the power is off, the main switch must be in the off position between 7:00 AM-10:00 PM on the date of connection.

 

SA customers: 
  • Please make sure you provide clear access to your meter and that there are no access restrictions such as locked gates or unrestrained animals.
  • If the power is off, the main switch must be in the off position between 7:00 AM-10:00 PM on the date of connection.
  • If there is no clear access to the main switch, someone from SA Power Networks will need to attend the property on the day of connection. They will contact you 30 minutes before arrival.

 

ACT customers:
  • Please make sure you provide clear access to your meter and that there are no access restrictions such as locked gates or unrestrained animals.
  • If power is off, the main switch must be in the off position between 7:00 AM-10:00PM on the date of connection.
  • It is recommended that you make sure that all appliances inside the house are turned off to prevent any load on the meter.

QLD customers:

  • Please make sure you provide clear access to your meter and that there are no access restrictions such as locked gates or unrestrained animals.
  • If the power is off, Energex will require access to your property to complete a Visual Safety Examination prior to turning on your power. This will occur during your selected appointment (8:00AM – 1:00PM, 1:00PM – 6:00PM)
  • If the property is completely vacant on the day of connection, you can arrange to leave the keys in a safe place and the technician will complete the Visual Safety Examination. If there are any items in the property or surrounding garages however, someone over the age of 18 will need to be in attendance.
